
Western Iowa Tech Community College, located on the western edge of the state in Sioux City, is a comprehensive community college serving six counties. The college had come a long way from its beginning in 1966 as a vo-tech school, and leadership felt the institution’s brand was at a crossroads. They turned to Amperage for help redeveloping its brand and identity.
Our strategy: Dive into some brand research to gauge alignment between organizational strategy, operations, experience and positioning. Then use that research to develop a robust brand platform and inform a refreshed brand identity.
Our research included nearly 100 one-on-one interviews with college leadership, faculty and staff; student focus groups; and our proprietary Creative FusionSM session — a collaborative, high-energy session designed to dive deep into your brand value and positioning.
Using our research findings, we developed a full brand platform outlining brand messaging, brand promise, brand story and more — all used as the foundation for brand identity and marketing efforts to follow. Finally, we developed a brand rollout plan for the college.
