
Elgin Sweeper, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, is a leading global manufacturer of street sweepers. They’ve served municipal, manufacturing, airport, construction and other commercial customers for over 100 years. In addition to sales and marketing, they knew the influence of trade publications with their target audiences but lacked the time and experience to effectively pitch earned content in key trade outlets. They turned to Amperage for help.
Our strategy: A year-long public relations plan to create and pitch content for key trade outlets, media relations to build relationships with publishers and media training to provide the Elgin team with tools to engage the media.
Amperage focused on storytelling around the Elgin brand, news-fit stories reflecting current events and customer and dealer stories, all to build their brand, showcase their innovative products and position Elgin as industry thought leaders. Our PR team also developed pitches of new and revamped material and trained the sales force to be advocates for Elgin in the media.
Update: Thanks to the success of this PR project, Elgin’s parent company, Federal Signal Corporation, signed new PR agreements for three more of their brands.
