Amperage Announces 2025 Golden Chicken People Awards

Presenting Golden Chicken award
March 2, 2026

Amperage Marketing + Fundraising has awarded the 2025 Golden Chicken awards. Presented annually to people and projects nominated by other Ampers, the awards recognize outstanding work in numerous categories.

The name comes from Mark Mathis, retired partner and co-founder of Amperage, who coined the phrase, “Show them the chicken,” while working on a client project. The “chicken” represents innovative and unconventional work. While clients don’t always go for the “chicken” idea, Amperage delivers creativity and out-of-the box thinking every day.

The Golden Chicken people awards recognize Ampers who live Amperage’s values and make a positive impact for clients and the agency.

Impact Award: Sarah Larson

The Impact Award is Amperage’s most prestigious Golden Chicken and is awarded to a person who embodies the Amperage brand essence of impact. PR Director Sarah Larson is the 2025 recipient.

Sarah makes an impact by going above and beyond for clients and colleagues. As one nominator said: “She always has a positive attitude and is a joy to work with!” And many of her clients are big fans, acknowledging the effectiveness of her strategies and the many ways she moves the needle for them.

Multiple nominations describe her as genuine, driven and kind, as well as notably supportive of others. “Even when her plate is overflowing, she takes time to meet with other teams, share ideas and show all the ways PR can support our clients.”

Nominators also note that she is widely respected by colleagues and clients as “a professional collaborator and a joy to be in meetings with.”

Collaboration Award: Nick Harvey

Awarded to an employee known for electrifying collaboration and teamwork within Amperage and with clients, the 2025 Collaboration Award recipient is Account Manager Nick Harvey.

Nick, known for his infectious energy and a strong commitment to healthy company culture, likes to get the best results possible for the client.

“Nick brings in other team members to provide solutions to clients and looks for services outside of initial client requests in order to enhance performance” one nominator said.

And Nick’s planning skills and galvanizing personality help build cohesion among Ampers, often to the benefit of the community. “Nick engages team members to participate in Amperage activities and volunteer opportunities.”

Nick helps boost morale, welcomes new hires and often serves as the glue connecting teams.

Customer Service Award: Michael Smith

Recognizing the Amper who provides exceptional customer service internally and externally, the 2025 Customer Service Award goes to Video Editor Michael Smith.

Michael steps up and delivers every day, going beyond to resolve issues for clients and colleagues. Sometimes arriving early and often staying late, Michael “is diligent and remains positive and steadfast in his work.”

A hard worker, Michael is always willing to try something new to benefit clients and Amperage. Nominators say his coworkers can count on him to stay positive and continue to grow. “He truly does something that no one else here can, and yet he is humble and dedicated. Amperage is a better place because we have Michael here.”
